About Fairlight

Fairlight Beach

Minutes From Sydney, Walking Distance From The Beach

Fairlight is a quiet suburb located 13 kilometres from Sydney’s city centre. In addition to being just minutes from downtown Sydney’s attractions, Fairlight’s main attraction is its proximity to Manly: the suburb is within walking distance to the beach. If you’re looking for a convenient spot that’s close to both Sydney centre and its beaches, Fairlight is a fantastic option.

Walk To The Beach

Manly Beach is a three-minute drive and a 15-minute walk from Fairlight, meaning you can squeeze in as much quality beach time as possible while on holiday. The historic Manly Beach is one of the oldest beach resorts in Sydney, with plenty of good surfing, space for sunbathing, and saltwater swimming pools. Parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and other watersports are all popular activities for both locals and holiday makers alike.

See What Manly Has To Offer

Spend a day at the Manly Sea Life Sanctuary to see penguins, turtles, sting rays, and sharks – in fact, you can even dive with the sharks at the Sanctuary’s Shark Dive Extreme.

Opened in 1930, the Manly Art Gallery and Museum is teeming with Australian culture; for additional arts and culture, check out the Manley Arts and Crafts Market. To beat the heat, hit the Manly Waterworks for a fun day on the waterslides.

Manly is also home to hundreds of fine restaurants and shops, so don’t miss out on the dining and shopping scene while you’re there. Out of Africa serves Moroccan cuisine and delicious couscous dinners; for the specialty of the house, get the Moroccan meatballs. Ashiana is considered one of the biggest bargains in the Sydney area for Indian food, serving up delectable butter chicken and malai kofta. For something entirely different, spend a night at Miss Manly’s, a retro 50s-inspired small bar that serves Latin American fare.

Fairlight Accommodation

With so much water around, Sydney accommodation tends to emphasise waterfront views, and Fairlight holiday rentals are certainly no exception. Many rentals have stunning views of the Harbour or beach views. Holiday makers love staying in Fairlight because while it’s still within minutes of the beach, Fairlight accommodation tends to be less costly than lodging in Manly.

Downtown Sydney Is Just Across The Water

Fairlight is close to the Manly wharf, so no worries if you don’t have a car and still want to see Sydney. Within minutes, you can be docking at Circular Quay, close to the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Opera House, the Sydney Aquarium, the restaurants at the Rocks, and much more. If you rent or brought your car, you can access most of what Sydney has to offer within a half hour.

If you want to be close to the beaches, close to Sydney, but not in the middle of the tourist crowds, you won’t find a more ideal holiday location than Fairlight.
